It has a unique identity and is one of the least-populated areas of the UK - there are no cities, many folk don't know where it is and yet it contains some of Britain's most iconic landscape. Life tends to run at a slightly different pace in Northumberland and not surprisingly, for those 'in the know', it is seen to be the perfect 'getaway destination'.
